My blog teacher

Here is a picture of my friend and blog teacher Valerie.  She is on an art retreat and these are her journal pages that she created.  Her smile covers her head to toe and make her eyes sparkle like diamonds.  With a smile like that she could charm a rich man out of his riches.  I take my hat off to her for all the help she has been to me in learning how to set up my blog and for the great art work  of my banner.  I say thank you now Valerie from the bottom of my heart.  A true friend indeed.

My Two Steampunkers

These lovely steampunkers are my granddaughter and my great granddaughter.  The one in the red is Princess Penelope, and the one in the blue is Grand Duchess Faith. Grand Duchess Faith is in the seventh grade and Priny Penny is in the third grade.  These two lovely ladies, are the light in my life.  We have such fun together finding out trivia about eyelash mites, and dead skin cells and other interesting stuff.  We have such fun crafting stuff witches bottles for our potions, schrinky dinks, and atc cards.  Sometimes we even work on our journals.

Well, here we are again, and Lady Raindrop (Rainy) is telling me it is to windy to go out today it will mess up her hair.  I am not sure it matters to her at all whether mine is messed up .  She and Lord John (Alfalfa) were going to see Sir Charles (Scruffy) to find out more about his new invention the automated tunnel.  It seems he has invented a macine that you can walk through on one end and come clean and groomed beautifully on the other end.  Well they told me they want to see it work before they get to interested.  They want all the particulars before they have a try.  Lady Raindrop is the most particular after all she is a lady.  However, Lord John is pretty snobby also, as his line is full of champions and he considers himself to the finest in his line.  Master Forrest (Buckwheat) doesn't have any interest he just wants to play and nap.  He had a hard night, the thunderstorms, and wind bothered him and he didnt sleep well.

Monday April 20, 2010

Well, I want to thank everyone for coming by to read my stuff and stopping to see my blooming collections of art and jewelry.  I especially want to tell all of you followers thanks for following the ramblings of mine.  I try to think of something funny to say, and it come out like a stuffed shirt in writing but now if I was talking it would be a different story, as my mouth works faster than my fingers do and when I am typing ( maybe I just need a keyboarding course they dont call it typing anymore) I catch myself before I have said the wrong thing or used bad grammer or some dumb thing.  Well thanks again for following me down the trail and I will do my best to keep it as entertaining as the old fingers will let me.

Sunday April 18, 2010

Well, it is nearly over for this month golly how the time slips away.  Have you ever gone to the mail box not expecting anything but bills, it seem like that is all I ever get sometimes a few ATCs or something else that I have traded for.  Well yesterday, there was this little bundle in my mail box, and I was suprised when I saw the return address it was from Sandy Popa.  I was excited to see what it was I thought she had sent me some trading cards or something.  Well, I started unwrapping, unwrapping, and unwrapping, and there low and behold were wonderful little jewelry parts, little rhinestones, charms, bits of chain, some tiny sterling beads and charms, and a chocker style sterling necklace, I cant list all of the items here.  She also added a note that said it was a RAK (for those not in the know that is a Random Act of Kindness).  Well only one other time have I been surprised like this was about 4 or 5 years ago, it was late at night when I went to get the mail and out side my door was the large grocery sack full of interesting beads and parts of jewelry in an (old) mustard jar, and a really old Alka Selzer bottle the tall one that the tablets fit in and small glass pill bottles filled with beads, and I have never found out who left it on my door step but I am glad they did.  But Sandy was sweeter and let me know who gave the RAK and I cant imagine doing something like this for someone you dont even know more than through the email such thoughtfullness from a friend.  It made my day you can not believe how happy it made me.  If you check out the jewelry, you will find I have added two more items.  One a Mary Engelbriet (spelling) beaded band watch, and my new bracelet I have been working on for a week.  I hope all enjoy.

Friday 16, 2010

Well, it is Friday night and the boys are howling, but I gave them a long card ride today, even though they had to sit in the car when I went the store.  They have really been rough housing since we got home.  Rainy enters in some and then just sits and barks at them.  It sounds like a kennel here sometimes.  I have been working on a mixed metal handmade charm bracelet,( maybe I should say married metals but I am not sure metals can marry) but fingers got tired of wrapping wire loops.  You know that your days are numbered when even your fingers get tired.  Tomorrow I am going to get my hair cut, so the bride of Frankenstein goes back to hiding out again.  My hair looked so bad today I had to creep up on myself when I brushed my teeth and washed my face this morning and after much screaming I called the hair Dr. and she said she could give me the magic potion one more time.   Well I joined a couple or three ATC's groups so out come the watercolors, and drawing pencils.  Well now my eyelids are needing to be checked for leaks, so I had get after this job.

Several people have ask why I named my blog Blossom's Bloomers, well another story goes here.  But I will make it short.  My great great Aunt wanted to name me Blossom, but my mother said no, so before my daughter was born she suggested Blossom again and I said no.  Well it seemed a good place to put the name Blossom and Aunt Net was a flower lover so Blossom's Bloomers was created.  It is a garden of fun things she would like, she loved jewelry, and she was an accomplished artist, I have three of her watercolors and one pastel hanging in my house.  All treasured pieces of the family and history of the time.  I am working on a charm bracelet right now and it is going slowly but because each piece of metal must be filed.

Friday, April 9, 2010

Friday afternoon, and I have been talking hard and mean to Alfalfa and Buckwheat trying to make them behave, they are fighting over whose turn it is to play on the computer and Rainy just stands there and watches unless she thinks it gets to rough an then she adds her 2 barks.  The youngs pups just dont listen to the old gals in the room.  I am going to work on a bracelet I have been working for a few weeks not and I am planning some time for drawing I hope, I am like to plan in my mind before I sit down to paper and pencil, pen or brush.  I have some jewelry to get off in the mail so I am going to the PO and send it.  I think everyone was tired of the weather report from West Tx but it is lovely here today for all of you northerners that are still in some cold and bad weather.  When I get all the in and outs of this blogging down and making slide shows down I will post the pictures of the Charms I made for the charm making club I am in.

Easter Sunday April 4, 2010

Well it has been a long and hard week it seems for every step I took I went back 7 working on this blog.  But my friend Valerie Brindcheck helped me all along the way and rescued me 9 million times.  She did the art work for my banner and I thank her from the bottom of my heart for all her help with this blog.

Now I have a quick story to tell.  You will notice that the name Lady Faith is use a lot in this blog.  Well for anyone that has known me for more than 50 years they know the story.  My daddy named me and being a southern gentleman, he named in the fashion at the time with a double first name and when I was christened I was given the name Barbara.  Well I used Lady Faith until the beginning of the 4th grade and I changed it to Barbara because I was tired of being teased about my first name.  Well to shorten the story I have begun to like as I grew older.  So that is the story.  It has been a wonderful day here just like a normal spring in West Texas uppers 80's and breezy.  I hope this next week will go well for all of us.  Live life like you mean it, laugh like you mean it and last but certainly not least love like you mean it.
